Former UT basketball player (2002-2006), Brad Buckman, came to speak to our 8th grade boys basketball team today. He had some great words of wisdom for them as they are coming to the end of their 8th grade season and moving forward to high school in August.

The Bailey Robotics Team brought home two very big wins from the competition this weekend! Congratulations to Godd Botts on receiving the “Excellence Award”. The highest award presented in the VEX Robotics program. Also, a BIG shout out to Fuzzy Logic for receiving the “Robot Skills Champion Award”! This team had the highest combined score outranking many competing high schools. Fuzzy Logic is ranked 3rd in Robot Skills in the state of Texas! This team will be traveling to CA next week and competing at the Google Headquarters. Way to go Bailey Bears! We are so proud of you!
A big shout out to our Girls Soccer Team (and their coaches, parents, and the refs) for playing in 33 degree weather, on cold, muddy fields. Thank you for representing the best of the Bears!
Congratulations to Culinary Arts teacher, Ms. Halle Whittington, on being named Bailey’s Teacher of the Year! Ms. Whittington received her Bachelor of Science degree in Family & Consumer Sciences from Texas State University in 2015. Over the past twenty years, prior to becoming a teacher at Bailey, her work experience included corporate sales and training, as well as retail and food service management, providing relevant, real world experience in the areas she teaches. Ms. Whittington is passionate about the practical and applicable training and skills CTE courses provide. She loves getting to know her students, discovering their uniqueness both inside and outside of the classroom. Other nominees this year include Science Teacher & Coach Lara Brown, and Choir Teacher Brooke Beasley. Congratulations to all for being recognized by their fellow teachers as outstanding educators at Bailey!
Congratulations to Theater teacher, Ms. Ursula Walker, on being named Bailey’s Teacher of Promise. Teacher of Promise is given to first year teachers who demonstrate an overall understanding of the components of good teaching and reveal outstanding potential as an educator. Ms. Walker has been an excellent addition to our campus and we are so glad she is part of our Bear family!

Four Bailey Robotics teams qualified and made it to this tournament, which covers the region that goes from Austin all the way south, including Houston. All four made it to the quarter finals, and two, OBoy Bears and Fuzzy Logic, made it to the final! Go Bears!
It was great to see so many people come out and support the students. We appreciate the numerous teachers, staff, administrators, parents, students and Bailey neighbors who attended.
Special thanks to Ms. Bailey, Mr. White, Mr. Adams and Ms. Krumrei who helped with directing, building the set and choreography, as well as parent volunteers who helped make this show successful.
