Remember to bring a Refillable Water Bottle to School Daily

As the weather begins to warm up, please remember to send your students to Bailey with a refillable water bottle to school DAILY.

STAAR Information

Dear Bailey families,

One of the many ways we support students in their academic growth is through standardized testing, and this year is no different. We are encouraging our families to send their students to Bailey to participate in STAAR testing. Participation will provide important baseline data regarding your student’s performance this year, and assist our teachers in instructional planning for the upcoming school year. Below we have included some general information about STAAR testing this Spring at Bailey.

All current AISD health and safety protocols will be followed throughout the testing process.
This year all STAAR tests will be administered on campus in an online format.
Per TEA, STAAR tests cannot be administered remotely.
Students who are remote learners are encouraged to come to campus, take their test and return home to continue remote learning.
Testing will be set up in large spaces to maximize social distance.
All students and staff will wear masks at all times.
Students will need to test on an AISD device. Personal devices cannot be used.
Testing has been scheduled on the following dates:
: APRIL
- April 06: (B Day) WRITING 7^th Grade
: MAY
- MAY 06 (B Day) 8^Th Grade SCIENCE
- MAY 07: (B Day) 8^TH Grade SOCIAL STUDIES
- MAY 11: (B Day) 6^TH Thru 8^TH Grade MATH
- MAY 12: (A Day) 6^THThru 8^TH Grade READING
Algebra I END Of Course (EOC) EXAM (Required for High School Completion)
- MAY 18: (B Day) ALG I EOC

Reminders and specific instructions regarding check in will be emailed to you the week of each test. If you have questions, please email our campus testing coordinator Floretta Andrews (Floretta.andrews@austinisd.org) If your child is a remote learner and you want them to participate in STAAR testing please notify Mrs. Andrews via email.

Cheerleading Tryout Information

When: Submissions are due by the end of the school day, Friday, April 30th.

Where: Details about virtual submission will be announced later

Important Notes:

Candidates will need a physical, dated after April 15, 2021, to try out.
Candidates will be submitting one continuous video of themselves spiriting in, jumps, cheer and dance.
Mandatory zoom beginning of April.
Tryout material will be released in mid-April. Date TBD.
