Free & Reduced Meals Application
You may complete the application online in English or Spanish (see below) The applications can be found in the front office. A new application is required each year, and only one is necessary per household.
All applications are processed on a first in-first out basis, and a letter stating the results of your application will be mailed home.

How can parents and guardians access their child’s meal account?
- To view balances or add money to a meal account, a SchoolCafé account must be created by visiting www.schoolcafe.com.
- Once an account is created, the SchoolCafé mobile application can be downloaded on Apple and Android devices.
- Through SchoolCafé, parents and guardians can make payments, view purchase history, receive low balance alerts, apply for meal benefits, submit verification paperwork and access school menus.
- Online payments are subject to a processing fee.

Cash payments are accepted in the cafeteria 7 a.m.-2 p.m.

Free Breakfast for Students Receiving Reduced-Price Meals:
New for the 2023-24 school year, students determined currently eligible for reduced-price meals will receive breakfast at no cost through funding allocated through the Texas legislature. Food Service will work to identify these students and notify families of this exciting program change. We encourage families who currently have reduced-price status to complete an AISD meal benefits application at www.SchoolCafe.com/AustinISD to ensure their eligibility through the entire school year.

- Reduced-Price (All Levels): FREE
- Adult/Guest: $3.25
Lunch:
- Full Price - Elementary Schools: $3.25
- Full Price - Middle & High Schools: $3.50
- Reduced-Price (All Levels): $0.40
- Adult/Guest: $5.00
About School Meals at Austin ISD:
Meals at AISD are prepared daily by Food Service staff in each school kitchen. The healthy meals we serve meet or exceed the federal nutrition guidelines that we are required to follow. We strive to offer a balance of healthy versions of student favorites mixed with scratch-prepared dishes and global flavors. AISD menus feature local, sustainably-sourced, and clean label foods.
We encourage all AISD students to dine at school, regardless of their economic status. We receive funding for each meal served to students; the more meals we serve, the more funds available to invest in our employees and food. When families choose school meals they are helping to provide a living wage for cafeteria staff, supporting the local economy, and bringing better food to all students across the district.
Families may view daily menus, allergens, nutritional information, apply for free or reduced-price meals, and add funds to their student’s meal account at www.SchoolCafe.com/AustinISD.
