Week of April 12 -16, 2021
Reminder from your Counselors
As a Counseling team, we want to let you know that we are here for you and your children. School Counselors are available to support students with academic and social emotional issues including mental health, grief/loss, friend issues, anxiety, and personal stressors. We can also refer you to additional counseling services. We would like to partner with parents and caregivers and we ask that you take some time this week to talk with your child.
Here are some conversation starters:
-
Everybody copes differently; what is helping you at the moment? Here are some things that help me.
-
I can only imagine how you feel. Can you tell me more?
-
It is okay for you to be upset and express how you feel in front of me.
We’d like to share some community resources with you in case you need additional support. You can also notify your child’s campus administrator and/or school counselor and ask for more resources.

Immunization Update for incoming 7th Graders
Dear Bailey Middle School parent/guardian,
For students entering 7th grade for school year 2021-2022, they will need to have the Meningitis B vaccine and a booster T-dap vaccine. A copy of their immunization will need to be provided to the Health Room by August 17, 2021 to start school in the fall. You can email the updated immunization record to teri.grossman@austinisd.org or fax to 512-414-5434.
Thank you for your help.
