Bailey Cafeteria scores 100%

Congratulations to our Bailey cafeteria staff, led by manager Norma Bautista, for scoring a 100% on their recent cafeteria and kitchen inspection. Producing nutritious hot meals for hundreds of students daily is no easy task, and doing that while maintaining very high sanitary standards is remarkable. Our Bears are lucky to have such caring and professional ladies working in our kitchen and cafeteria. Congratulations ladies!

Student IDs

Thank you to all our parents for helping our students remember to wear their ID badges every day at school. The implementation of our student ID Badge policy has been a success, and most students are wearing them daily without fail. At dismissal, we ask students to put their ID badges in their backpacks so they are secure and ready to be used the next morning when they arrive at school. This strategy prevents students from losing track of their ID badge after school when they get home.

Beginning in January, we will be charging for replacement ID badge covers, the small plastic sleeves that protect the ID badges. Students are going through those quickly. Like the badges and lanyards, the first set we provided at no cost to the students. However, moving forward we cannot sustain free replacements of the badge, the cover, or the lanyard. Replacements will be charged as follows:

ID Badge w/ lanyard and plastic cover sleeve = $5.00

Bailey Bears Lanyard only = $2.00

Plastic cover sleeve only = $1.00

Shout Out to the Bowie Vertical Team Principals

Last Friday, in a wonderfully thoughtful gesture, the Bowie Vertical Team Principals provided lunch for our Bailey teachers in recognition of the challenges faced through the recent devastating loss of another student. The principals wanted to let our teachers know, "We see you. We appreciate you." On behalf of the entire Bailey faculty, I would like to publicly thank my principal colleagues. The lunch was fantastic and nothing was left at the end of the day! The Bowie Vertical team schools include Bowie, Bailey, Gorzycki, Baranoff, Cowan, Kiker, Clayton, Mills, Baldwin, and Bear Creek. What a great community.

8th Grade Boys Basketball Tryouts

Tryouts for the 8th grade boys basketball team will be held on December 13th, 14th and 15th after school from 4:00 to 5:30pm. Students who want to tryout MUST have a physical in order to tryout. Students can give physicals to Coach Avila if they have not already turned one in. Please fill out the form below if you are interested in trying out. FCA meets every Friday morning at 7:20am in the small gym. See You At The Pole is September 26. Meet at the flag pole at 7:30am if you are interested in praying for our school.
