Bailey Parents and Guardians,

This Tuesday, January 24th, is our Choice Sheet Night. If you are unfamiliar with what that is, this is an evening information session where we host parents and students from 5th, 6th, and 7^th grades, who are planning to attend Bailey Middle School next year, so we can explain the process of filling out our academic and elective course Choice Sheets. The Choice Sheets all students to prioritize the electives they would most like to take. We ask students (with parent help) to order their choice of electives in numerical order with One (1) being my most desired elective class, Two (2) being my second favorite class, and so forth through all the choices. This 'ranking' system allows us to input your child's choices into our computer system so that when we build the Class Master Schedule, the computer will do its best to build an individual schedule for your child that is as close to their list of top ranked choices as possible.

So come to the campus Tuesday evening and join us for the Choice Sheet information session. We will have all our elective teachers on hand for you and your child to chat with and get a chance to get some questions answered. We will also have Core Area teachers on hand (Math, English/Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies) as well as Special Education teachers available to answer your questions.

We hope you can join us for Choice Sheet Night this Tuesday, January 24th, starting at 6:30PM at Bailey.

Bailey Booster Club Meeting - January 23rd

Bailey Bear Booster Club will meet on January 23rd at Bailey at 5:30 pm in the Library. Please join us as we look at what will be needed to support the winter/spring sports and begin planning for the 23/24 school year.

Are you a 6th Grade parent? Join the booster club now! It's a great way to learn what playing sports is like at Bailey. For example, everything I needed to know about my son playing football, I learned through the parents I met at Booster Club!

Ms. Hundley is consistent in offering assistance to all of her students. She provides plenty of opportunities for students to submit all their assignments by the due dates. Grade 7 Science is the class to be, but she also sponsors after school activities like the Gamers club. The Bailey family is blessed to have her on our team. Her classroom has such a welcoming vibe to all staff and students. You can tell she loves teaching and her students and team love her!

FCA meets every Friday morning at 7:20am in the small gym.

Cheer Club meets every Wednesday after school from 3:55 to 4:45 pm.

Early College High School Transfer Information

If any 8th grade student missed the January 13th Early College High School transfer deadline and would still like to apply to an Early College High School program, please complete this FORM. This form will go to the AISD Early College High School Department and the Early College High School program the student is interested in. Please contact Debra Austrum, 8th Grade Counselor, for more information.

Early College Programs Virtual Hours

The Early College Programs office will be having a Virtual Office Hours meeting in English on January 26th from 12 pm - 1pm via Zoom. See the flyer below for details. Also, there will be one in Spanish on January 26th from 6pm - 7pm.

SALUTE! AISDs Annual Recogintion Celebration

Save the Date for SALUTE 2023, May 10 , 5:30 pm at the Austin ISD Performing Arts Center!

Salute is AISD’s annual celebration to recognize some of the district’s outstanding team members for their continued dedication to student excellence and achievement in our schools.

Salute Category nominations are open until February 3rd!

District staff, families, and the community are invited to submit a nomination for a staff member they believe represents the very best of AISD. This year’s Salute Awards ceremony will recognize the winners in five categories: Classified Staff of the Year, Counselor of the Year, Librarian of the Year, Assistant Principal of the Year, Principal of the Year, and PTA of the year. In addition, Teachers of Promise and Teachers of the Year will be honored.

Our goal is to have all schools represented in our open nomination period.

Nominations will close February 3rd at 5pm.
