Bailey Bear Happenings - March 10th "Spring Break" Edition

March 10th "Spring Break" Edition

Principal's Note

Bailey Parents and Guardians,

Spring Break is upon us and I hope the days off for students will allow our families to enjoy a little more time together, if possible. We know some families will be traveling and we wish you "safe travels." For those who will be staying closer to home, we hope you and your children can get a few "projects" done over the holidays!

Here are a few reminders for coming back after Spring Break:

  • Please be sure to bring and wear your ID badge. If you have lost your ID badge, you must purchase a replacement ASAP from the front office.
  • Bring your fully charged Chromebook to school starting Monday, March 20th. We do not have loaner computers.
  • Label your changer with your name and phone # and bring it in your backpack.
  • Monitor your child's sleep patterns during spring break - especially during the last weekend before we return. Children cannot re-establish healthy sleep patterns on Sunday night, March 19th.
  • Remember that after Spring Break we have two more student & staff holidays on the calendar... March 31st (Cesar Chavez/Delores Huerta Holiday) and April 7th (Student and Staff Holiday)

Please remind your students that their Chromebooks are registered to them individually, and they must handle them carefully. We are having far too many damaged Chromebooks, and we no longer have any loaners to supply for students whose Chromebooks are damaged.

John Rocha, Principal

Top Banana - Ms. Andrews

This week Ms. Broccolo passed the Top Banana award to Mrs. Andrews, for being an awesome Assistant Principal at Bailey Middle School. Her unwavering ability to handle any situation with grace is heroic and should be celebrated. Her patience and resilience persevere when it comes to managing students. Our campus is so lucky to have a dedicated Admin like Ms. Andrews encouraging us every day. The students, faculty and staff are better because of her!

Bailey Middle School Boy Scouts

Boys Scout Troop 82 (most of these scouts are Bailey students) was recognized by State Representative Vikki Goodwin at the Shady Hollow Board Members Meeting last Friday. When we had the ice storm, we took a number of our scouts out on Thursday & Friday to help cut up downed trees/branches and haul off brush to the community center. Most of our boys worked for multiple hours each day, either working directly with Shaun Bodah and I, or with their Dads. Mrs. Goodwin wanted to thank us for the effort, and she presented us with a copy of a statement that I believe she read at the capitol.

Front row, L to R: Jackson Boyd, Porter Maines, Liam Voelkel, Liam Stull

Middle Row, L to R: Shaun Bodah, Jett Incognito, Gage Harris (Small MS student), Jameson Boyd, Milo Taras, Jake Taras, Vikki Goodwin

Back Row, L to R: Jordan Boyd & Trevor Voelkel

Other Bailey scouts in Troop 82 who could not make the picture: Chris Bodah, Brady Brown, Quinn Wiginton, Baron Young, Jordan Harris, James Scarth.
