I hope this email finds you well. I am writing to provide you with essential information regarding the upcoming STAAR testing dates, beginning tomorrow, April 11th. The schedule is as follows:
4/11- Reading (All grade levels)
4/16- Science (8th grade ONLY)
4/17- Social Studies (8th grade ONLY)
4/23- Math (All grade levels)
Campus Protocols on testing days:
To maintain a secure testing environment, the campus will be closed to all visitors on testing days.
Please do your best to reschedule appointments as students will not be able to restart the test once they have begun.
It is imperative that students do not use or have their cell phones/watch with them during the testing period. Any student found using or in possession of a cell phone/watch during testing will be subject to disciplinary action and may have their test invalidated.
Parents who need to contact their child during the testing day should call the main office at (512) 414-4990. Emergency situations will be promptly addressed.
Preparation Suggestions for Parents & Students:
Ensure your child gets a good night's sleep of at least 8 hours and minimizes electronic device usage before bedtime.
Charge their Chromebook overnight and bring charger to school to ensure it lasts the entire testing day.
Encourage them to eat a nutritious breakfast before coming to school. Breakfast will be available in the cafeteria.
Arrive before 8:15 AM to allow time for settling in before testing begins.
Remind your child to bring a water bottle and a book to read, as they may have downtime after completing the test.
